Painting begins in a more private space.

It draws me toward dreams, melancholy, and emotions that resist being named. Through image, color, and form, I construct inner rooms in which those feelings can be approached, inhabited, and lived through.

The work begins as an investigation, without an audience in mind. Yet somewhere within that private space, another person may recognize something of their own.
